Course Description
This course is designed for learners of various roles and backgrounds and covers essential topics to help you make informed decisions about AWS services and solutions that suit your needs.
By completing this course, you will be able to:
- Grasp the fundamentals of cloud computing, including benefits, deployment models, and service models (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS)
- Understand AWS core services, such as Compute, Storage, Databases, Networking, and Content Delivery, along with key offerings like Amazon EC2, Amazon S3, Amazon RDS, Amazon VPC, and Amazon CloudFront
- Learn essential security aspects of AWS, including Identity and Access Management (IAM), compliance, and shared security responsibility models, as well as best practices for securing AWS infrastructure and applications
- Familiarize yourself with the AWS Well-Architected Framework and its best practices and design principles for building scalable, secure, and efficient cloud architectures
- Gain insights into AWS pricing models, cost structures, and strategies for optimizing cloud usage to reduce costs
- Explore AWS support offerings, tools, and resources, such as Basic, Developer, Business, and Enterprise support plans, AWS Trusted Advisor, AWS Personal Health Dashboard, and AWS Support Center
Throughout the course modules, you will understand important cloud computing concepts, including the basics, benefits, deployment models, and service models (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS). You’ll delve into AWS core services such as Compute, Storage, Databases, Networking, and Content Delivery, while exploring essential security aspects, Identity and Access Management (IAM), compliance, and shared security responsibility models. The course also covers the AWS Well-Architected Framework, design principles for scalable, secure, and efficient cloud architectures, as well as AWS pricing models, cost structures, and strategies for optimizing cloud usage and reducing costs. Additionally, you’ll learn about AWS support offerings, plans, and resources to ensure effective support. Optional AWS lab activities include creating a static website using Amazon S3 and deploying a web application on Amazon EC2. Upon completing the AWS Cloud Foundations course, you’ll have a solid understanding of cloud computing concepts.
